Colter Systems
have packaged their popular FMT-200 programmable controller
(PLC) in an educational kit for use in both course
and project work, making industry standard equipment available
to Universities at a vastly reduced price.
Colter Systems
is a British company designing and manufacturing programmable
controllers in the UK. FMT-200 controllers are used in a wide
variety of industries including automotive, chemical, pharmaceutical,
food, beverage and utilities.
The kit consists
of an FMT-200J programmable controller fitted into a rugged
lockable flight case which can be safely stored when not in
use. An IEC inlet plug on the side is used to provide mains
power to an inbuilt power supply. The operating voltage of
the unit is 24Vdc with a 1A auxilliary supply provided.
The FMT-200J
kit can either be operated as a stand-alone unit with the
inbuilt switches and potentiometers or connected to other
equipment via standard 4mm sockets.

Programming of
the FMT-200J is accomplished using Colter Systems Flex32 programming
software which is supplied with the kit. This software is
common to all of Colter's Micro, Compact and Modular PLCs
and the BIS-100 Fieldbus Interface. Flex32 can be installed
on any number of PCs and can be upgraded free of charge from
our website www.coltergroup.co.uk.
Programs can be written in a sequential instruction language,
rather similar to BASIC or in traditional ladder logic. As
part of the package, we are offering a free one day training
course to two delegates at our headquarters in Dunmow, Essex.
We are also able to provide a set of training notes which
we are happy for you to use as course notes for training students.
We are able to
